CARE GUIDE

HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR ARIANE DELARUE LINGERIE PIECE?

We recommend that you treat your garment gently and carefully. Its authentic beauty is fragile. Wearing silk is a delight, but as a natural material, silk needs to “rest”. Avoid wearing the same garment over several consecutive days.

We highly recommend hand washing silks or bringing them to a dry cleaner. Giving your silk garments the proper care will ensure a longer and lustrous life.

Machine washes are not recommended but careful hand washing may be carried out.

We highly recommend against using any harsh detergents containing bleach or brighteners.

Using a substance that contains alcohol will damage silk fabrics such as perfume and hairspray.

SILK HAND WASHING

Only wash your silk products by hand in cool water (no more than 25°C).

Use a very mild phosphate-free detergent or baby shampoo.

Gently soak without leaving the silk item in water for too long and without rubbing.

SILK RINSING

Rinse thoroughly in cold water (you can add a teaspoon of distilled white vinegar to the water to neutralize alkaline traces and to dissolve soap residue).

Gently roll your item in a clean towel to remove the water. Do not wring twist the garments as this will inflict damages.

Do not leave your item in the towel or in damp conditions.

Never rub silk when it is wet.

SILK DRYING

Do not leave your damp item crumpled. Spread it out flat at room temperature, far from sunlight or a heating source as this could possibly fade the colors or cause damage to the silk fibres. It is possible silk will turn yellow if exposed to direct sunlight or placed onto a radiator. We highly recommend against using a wooden drying rack as this could leave stains on your garments. We recommend against using a dryer as the excessive temperature and friction will damage the silk.

IRONING

We do not advise you to use a steam iron. Iron your slightly damp item inside out with an iron set to position 2 or silk without pressing too hard on the seams. Please do not wet the silk while ironing this will cause stains.

SILK CARE

When traveling please pack your garments in a separate bag so they cannot be damaged by other garments in your luggage. After unpacking your suitcase, hanging the garment out will take care of small wrinkles. If this is not sufficient hang your garments in the bathroom so it is exposed to humidity and let them dry.
